Explain PMI- who insures it?
We are in the middle of a refi for our home and have never had to pay pmi before. Now with the housing market appraisal, we will likely have to pay PMI. We plan to sell in 5 years and even with PMI the lower interest rate will save us money. So, do I arrange for PMI or does the bank do it? Do I need to call USAA who holds our home owners and arrange PMI with them?
