Suprise party for husband's 30th birthday in March
Long time lurker but in need of some expertise! My husban will be turning 30 on March 18th. I know that isn't much time but I was wanting to plan a surprise party for him. Originally, we were going to take our "honeymoon" during this time but decided to hold off on that until this summer. I have never thrown a party of this sorts and I am unsure where to even start. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome
I think you've got plenty of time, but you'll need to get invitations in the mail in a couple weeks (if you're going to mail them).
A surprise party is a regular party that's just a secret, so are you having any ideas about the size, the food, the location? Formal or casual? You haven't given us anything to go on.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
#1 Choose a date that you want to have the party.
#2 Create the Guest List: Choose if you want just friends or just family and or both. As well as Children and or no Children.
#3 Do you want to have the party at home, in a restaurant at a club/bar and or some other location.
#4 Do you want to cook for all the guests or have it catered and or a combo of both.
#5 If you are going to cook for the guests, you need to plan a menu if you are going to get a catering company you'll need start looking at pricing and menu options.
Hi there, I'm also a lurker, but I just planned a surprise weekend for my husbands 30th so I figured I'd chime in. We currently live in a 1 bedroom apt, so throwing a big party here wasn't an option and I wasn't keen on renting a hall because I didn't want to worry about people driving home.
(Disclaimer - our core group of friends are married/engaged without kids.) We all chipped in to rent a house in the Mountains for the weekend. We managed to do it relatively inexpensively and hubby said it was one of the best weekends he's had in a long time.
If you're looking to do a more intimate party that doubles as a weekend away, I'd be happy to share how we made it work
