To follow up on my post last week - I ran my first 5k on Saturday. The weather was supposed to be terrible with wind, chilly temps (40's) and expected down pours. I dressed as best as I thought I could for 3 soggy miles but was pleasantly surprised that the race was between the break in the storms. That was a great surprise!
My watch time was 30:58. The chip time was 30:53 - so close enough.
I was pleased because I expected something more like 35 minutes total.
It was fun - and thanks for all the great advice last week. I was still nervous/anxious but I am glad that I went and gave it a go!

Thanks, ladies!! :-)
Jaay - I do want to run some other races. I had always been hesitant because I was afraid I couldn't "do" it with all those "elite" runners. After running on Saturday I realized that there are people from every walk of life and every fitness level getting out there to at least try. Silly me!
I'm not sure how the jaw surgery and lack of eating real food is going to set me back - but there is a race in April and a 10k in May that I'm interested in doing since some other friends are running it as well.
