Megan (Naylon)

That Safety 1st perfect fit gate is perfection. At least for the bottom of our stairs--we still have to hardware install the one at the top. Not only solved our challenge, but saved us money, too. Thank you!

Re: Megan (Naylon)

  • Oh good!  It's certainly not the most attractive thing in the world, but it works.

I kid you not when I tell you how many gate options we went through. I'm glad our research helped, lol.  Our staircase comes down to a landing where you can go left down three steps into the kitchen or right three steps into the living room.  Trying to figure how where to put a gate, and what gate would work (in my very un-plumb 1925 house :)  was a challenge!

  • Butting in, but our stairs are a pain. We had to hardware mount on the stair railings since they were only flat on the bottom. We have a kiddy guard retractable on the bottom (we have a landing too and have a retractable one on both sides of the landing)

    ours is the old one.

For the top of the stairs we love our kidco gate! Easy to use one handed and we use it as a dog gate too to keep the dogs from going upstairs when we are not home.

  • We love our retractable gate too (we have one at the top of the stairs).

Those other gates you have don't work for us because my house is so out of level.  They don't line up to auto-close correctly.  Also, the top of our stairs has no newl post and just a door way and just a door jamb one side and the plaster wall onthe other!  I hate baby gates and am so glad we're nearly past them (except for top of stairs!)
