What will I forget to pack for our AI trip?

We're going to the DR in a few weeks...it'll be my first AI trip though I travel quite a bit. I'm starting to pick things up at the store as I think of them.  I know of the obvious things like bug spray, sun screen, etc. but what are some things you'd suggest me packing that I might not think about?  I appreciate any tips :)

Re: What will I forget to pack for our AI trip?

  • We just got back from an AI last month.  Some helpful things: lots of singles, sunglasses, hat, beach bag, books (plural - DH brought one and read it within the first few days.  He wasn't able to find another book in English), magazines, etc.  If you burn easily, like I do, bring a short sleeved shirt or long sleeved beach cover up.  Hopefully you won't need it.

Our resort had tennis lessons and a gym so if you want to do anything like that remember to bring workout clothes and shoes.

    Have a great trip!

  • We were in the DR in the beginning of December. Had a great time. Where are you staying. This that we didn't bring that would have been great to have:Aloe gelCold medicineSwimmers ear dropsCashCameraThings we brought but didn't need:Bug sprayFlat iron

  • We took SwimWays floats and insulated mugs on our AI trip this summer.  Best things we packed -- and we were offered cash for them multiple times by other couples.
  • not just for AI but I always like to bring a pair of yoga pants for lounging in the room. i dont wear them out or  on the plane but it's nice to have a pair of comfy pants to hang around in.

Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!! my read shelf:
Alison's book recommendations, favorite quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • In addition to insulated cups we usually bring coozies for can sodas and beer. And don't forget the chargers for your phone, camera, laptop etc.
  • Rafts, insulated mugs, Aloe, SPF spray for your hair(I have dark hair and my scalp always gets fried), Ipad/Ipod & travel speakers, plenty of magazines and books, camera, phone/camera/ipod/ipad chargers.  Have fun!

  • Camera battery charger, aloe, lotion, plastic/ziplock bags to keep your books/camera/etc dry and sand free at pool/beach, pashmina/scarf incase it gets cool at night, passport
  • We pack plastic shopping bags to keep our dirty clothes in as they accumulate, instead of back in the suitcase w/ the clean stuff (ew!) or piling up on the floor.
  • Thanks, everyone!  We are staying at Lifestyle in Puerto Plata...can't wait!!
