What to do with all these beads????

My nana was a quilter and used seed and bugle beads to decorate many of her applique designs.  Since I inhertied all of her craft supplies, I now have about a million seed and bugle beads.

I don't use beads all that much - only here and there, but I am looking for some ideas to use them for.  Does anyone have any good suggestions other than for accenting appliques?  I don't see myself making jewelry out of them.

TIA!

  • Wine charms and Christmas ornaments. I like to do beading on tops and cardigans that are otherwise plain. If that doesn't strike your fancy. Donate the beads to a church or school for fun kids projects.

  • I bought a Christmas decoration from pier one that was sort of a bouquet of wire stems that were bugle beads and sequins alternating on lengths of floral wire wrapped together with floral tape.  They kind of remind me of fireworks.  We made some small 'bursts' out of the colors of our decor. The one we bought was done in red and green.

Sort of like this, but with sequins between each bead and the one we bought was more like a bouquet, not a napkin ring.  ;)

  • Okay, so let's see if I can explain what I did in college.  You know how there's ledges/grooves on frames?  Well, using tweezers and glue, I lined beads up around one of the ledges closest to the picture in a pattern. It really complimented the picture and looked nice.  I wonder where the heck I put those... somewhere in this house, I'm sure.  If I find it, I will post a picture.

  • Adhd - I love the idea of adding them to a cardigan.  If you have the opportunity, do you mind sharing a pic of what you have done?  Thanks!!!
  • If you don't find a project, you can always sell the beads on Ebay.  I buy a lot of my beads from Ebay.
