I?m trying to get our home ready to sell. I?m looking for some helpful tips we can do before our first viewing. I have been to some open houses to see what I liked and didn?t like about the houses to make mine better. What are some items you look at when buying a home? The house is clean, smells good, fresh paint, clean floors, clean appliances, open blinds, grass is mowed, leaves raked, clutter is all gone, we do have several items on our build- in book cases but not more than 4 items on each shelf, we have wall art but not on every wall, all door handles have been updated, our closet is nice and organized. Let me have some of your suggestions I can do quickly to improve the appeal of this house to future buyers. Thanks!
Re: getting ready to sell our house
I'd say to remove anything that would remind the buyers of YOU, i.e., anything reminding them that it's not currently their place. We saw a home this past weekend that was FULL of family photos and crucifixes in every single room. It's hard to picture yourself in a place that is so clearly marked by someone else.
Note: I don't think a few personal photos is a big deal, it's just that this house must have had dozens of them. You couldn't walk through a room without them staring at you!
