I already had Monday off for G2G recovery and such, but now it looks like I will be off work most of next week. They scheduled me for the colonoscopy on Wed, but I will need Tues as a prep day, so I am looking at a super long weekend ahead!
It will start off on the highest of highs, with some of the best internet friends a girl can have in one of my most favorite cities on the planet... and then end with a humiliating and invasive procedure that hopefully will not lead to a surgery situation, which is a slight chance barring a couple of "IF" scenarios. Hopefully all goes well.
So next week I will not be my normal posting self, but I expect to have my iPad on hand when I'm hanging around the house, so I will still be checking in on here when I can. I'll be sure to at least come and post my fave pic from the G2G early in the week.
Thanks for all the support, and hopefully the next steps will be a breeze and provide some answers and relief to the issues in my body. To the girls that will see me in a couple of days, do not judge me if I get sloppy drunk... part of it will be anxiety about these upcoming events. I will try to behave appropriately but I cannot make guarantees about my behavior.

Re: Looks like next week will be a rollercoaster for me
I wish you lots and lots of luck, Erin! MH had a colonoscopy done last year and he said it wasn't painful at all. The prep is the worst of it. I'm thinking positive and sending surgery-less thoughts your way!
Have lots of fun this weekend!
Aww, Erin. I'm sorry you're dealing with these issues but hopefully you can have a blast at the gtg beforehand and it will take your mind off of it! I'm looking forward to seeing pics.
It's awful feeling crappy, having tests run, and not knowing what's going on with your body. I know it's a little different, but what you're going through now is similar to what I went through about a year ago so I really sympathize with you. I hope the doctors can figure everything out soon so you know what the cause is and how to prevent or treat it.
You will be in capable hands this weekend, so feel free to get sloppy!
I'm really sorry you have to have something stuck up your butt next week
I hope you have the greatest time at the G2G - you deserve it! And I don't think anyone in that group would judge you, even if you do get sloppy drunk and start "I love you, man"-ing everyone in sight. lol
I'll be sending healthy, anti-surgery vibes to you. I hope it turns out to be something manageable that won't impact your daily life too much.
Don't worry, chikadee, we'll cheer you up! D told me that when you get a colonoscopy, they give you the good drugs, so that's a positive to look forward to!
And some to take home, too? **gets slightly excited**
Thanks, all. I am trying not to innundate the board with updates, just keeping you all in the loop. Luckily I am a happy drunk, definitely the "I love you man" type, more than the "crying away my sorrows" drunk.
KDuv, I have thought about you while having to hear speculations and such about what it could be. There was another poster on here who I'm FB friends with who has UC/Chrone's, so I know she will also be very supportive if I have questions regarding that, which they brought up as a potential issue. It does feel good to know I am not alone and there are others that have gone through similar experiences and frustrations, even though I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Plus, things could always be worse, so I am trying to stay as positive as possible.
I am certainly glad to have a kickass weekend to look forward to.
Ooooh yes. I will be making sure the drinks are pouring and the good times are plentiful!
This! I hope it all goes well!!
I was lucky that mine turned out not being serious, but that feeling of not knowing is the worst. I hope you find out soon and get some relief. *hug*
If you want, I can give you a list of colonoscopy tips to make things easier. lol. There are some things I wish I'd known beforehand.
Yay for a long weekend
Poo (literally) for the colonoscopy.
Better safe than sorry
Ang, that is good to know, haha! I'm glad there was no pain for him afterwards, that is promising. Extra drugs are always good, even if they aren't needed.
yeah, that would be nice if you have it handy. If it's an email thing, you can send it to UTerin03 at yahoo
I have been told to get some flusheable aloe wipes, and there's a few things I am not supposed to eat like nuts and seeds, but other than that I think they just gave me a generic brochure with a few tips included. I'd be glad to hear anything you think would be helpful to know for this, thanks!!
