Acadia National Park

My mom and I are probably taking a trip to Maine in June.  We'll see Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  Does anyone have any recommendations on hotels/inns and restaurants?  I would love to stay at a B&B, but most I'm finding only have rooms with one bed.  We'd need two.

Re: Acadia National Park

  • We stayed a LONG time ago at the Holbrook House and loved it. Close to town and it had a little apt behind the inn where we stayed (it would have a bedroom for each of you). At our last visit we were at the Harbour Cottage in Southwest Harbor. Very nice but a little out of the way. We had a shared suite with MIL.

Michelle's in Bar Harbor has great dinners and good wines. Red Sky is a nice upscale restaurant in Southwest Harbor. The Jordan Pond House in the park is lovely. They're known for their popovers and the view.

Have fun! We now live closer to there and can't wait to go back.

  • We stayed at the Graycote Inn B&B in Bar Harbor and loved it's location. the hosts were excellent.  THey have 2 2-bedroom suites that may suite your needs.

  • Its not a B and B but the Quality Inn on Kebo Street was a good value for the money. FWIW We went to Acadia and Bar Harbor 2 summers ago and while we loved Acadia we disliked Bar Harbor as too fakey and touristy. On the other hand 70 miles south is Boothbay Harbor and we LOVED it and stayed at Browns Wharf. HTH- G
