wwsnd: valentine's day present

so you know that i've been telling you guys how bad H wants a tattoo.. although i don't love the latest tat idea, he has showed me a few that i like and think would look great. we are currently aggressively paying off our debt and haven't really been buying anything extra lately. I've been putting money away.. little by little and I have enough for the tattoo he wants.. I'm assuming.

We've done some research and we know where he wants his tattoo eventually. I went online and this place says that you have to make an appt in person. Luckily this place is near to where we live and work so it would be easy for me to run over on lunch and make an appt.

Even though H doesn't have the exact picture that he wants, I think he'd love the gift.

Would you do this?? I'm positive he isn't getting me a gift but I'm ok with that.. and maybe i'll get a tattoo also. :)

WWSND? or what do you think?

  • Could he cancel the appointment if he isn't ready? If so, I say go for it.

  • What about a gift certificate?

  • yeah, get a gift certificate that way he isn't committed if they can't do the drawing exactly how he envisions it. It is permanent after all...

  • You could just give him a handmade "gift certificate" for the tattoo and then he can make the appointment when he is ready. You want to make sure he KNOWS what he wants.

ok, i'll think about it. h keeps telling me how much he wants one but would rather put that money toward debt. so i'm sick of hearing about it really.. i'd rather him just get one and get it over with. that is why i'd like to just make the appt. i'm sure we have to put some deposit down but i'm sure we could change our appt if we want.. he knows he wants one, he just hasn't picked the exact one outo f the ones he has on his computer.. plus he's hoping the artist will make something that is unique to him. maybe i just need to stop thinking about it. lol.

  • You might stop in and see if they will even let you make the appt. for someone else. A deposit is usually due and it's usually a portion of what they think the final tattoo will cost. Since he doesn't know exactly what he wants and wants artist input you could see if they do consultation appointments.
