Pinterest question
My friend sent me an invite, so that I wouldn't have to wait on the waiting list. But I still haven't received the invite in my email box.
Is there a time delay or something?

I had to send my mom about 10 emails to get one to go through.
I spent less than 48 hours on the "wait list" when I just signed up by myself.
That site is buggy.
I signed up through their wait list and they sent me an invite directly shortly after. I think I was the first one of my friends to join, so I had no one to invite me otherwise...it was sad. Maybe try that and see if it works quicker?
It seems like there has been some sort of sudden influx of new people I know on there. I don't know what's going on.
All technical. They need the bandwidth to handle thousands of concurrent users and transactions, as well as storage for all the content added by users -- and the kind of stuff people are adding is weighty in terms of space needs.
And of course, I bet they have PR people who says that it piques interest if the sight seems so popular that there's a waiting list. Makes it seem more exclusive and desirable.
I agree that the site is buggy in a lots of ways. Someone sent me an invite through FB, which didn't go through, but the email invite I was sent came through quickly, as have those I sent to other people. Keep trying!
