Re: Holy shiz.
HAHA!
At least precipitous labors almost always result in very healthy babies. :-)
ETA: And, I must say that I LOVE the mama's comments at the end of the story. :-)

Holy crap!!! This is my biggest fear. My grandmother gave birth to a 10 pound baby (her second child) in a hospital hallway because they couldn't get her in a room asap. We have the same physical build, and our first labors were the same duration.
Props to the dad for being able to multitask, wow!

Holy shiz indeed. Since DH has actually delivered a baby before (albeit it's been a while) so I think I'd make him pull over. It sounds like that baby was coming no matter what so I am sure DH would have been qualified enough to catch it, lol.
While I don't desire to give birth in the car, I am jealous of her water broke, one push labor!
Yeah, that's just crazy.
Given the speed at which Nora came, I am seriously afraid for the second time around. The only reason we went to the hospital when we did was because my dad lives in VA and really wanted to drive up to be here for the delivery. I was hesitant to have him hit the road until my being in labor was 100% confirmed by a doctor at the hospital, so we went in.
Thank God. If I had waited until my water broke, I'm fairly certain I could've ended up giving birth on the side of the road somewhere, or MAYBE an ER, if I was lucky.
