F/U to Should I buy a serger ?

I bought one! I got the Brother 1034D. Thanks for all your input. Now I just need to learn how to use it. I have a feeling that youtube will be my friend. Hopefully DS will be kind to his mama and magically start napping for more than 30 minutes!

  • I am green with envy.  :) I want one so much, but I can't make myself take the plunge!  Have fun with it!

    BTW, your DS is a-freakin-dorable.

  • Congrats- you will LOVE having it! I don't know if anyone mentioned it already, but, there's a $2 book on Amazon that has great generic advice on sergers and all the different stitch options you have. If you have prime (or mom prime), or need to order enough other things to get free shipping, it's a great deal.
  • Yay! I found it was surprisingly easy to use. Threading it was the hard part. Granted, I don't care too much how my stitches look, changing the tension or feed differentials or using different stitches yet, but I hope to be soon. Can't wait to hear what you use it for and how you like it!

Thanks for that tip! I'll check that out.
