Clothing at Secrets Maroma Beach

Just a little confused on the dress code for restaurants..... I am assuming no sleeveless shirts only applies to men, not women? Also would a halter top that shows some cleavage be okay or not at the restaurants?

Also anything else I should know about this resort in general?

Re: Clothing at Secrets Maroma Beach

  • I think you'd be fine in a halter; guys should have sleeves though.

H took two pairs of khaki pants for 7 nights and switched them off.  He pretty much only wore them for dinner and then took them off/switched into shorts.

We occasionally saw people in jeans/jean shorts in dining spaces; but for dinner the majority of the time it seemed like guys had pants.  I was surprised how many women wore heels.  I just brought nice sandals and a pair of wedges; although I think I did wear a dress every night for dinner.

Sign up for reservations at the Hibachi Grill; it's fantastic! (Actually, I have a SMB review in my Ms. Bio under Honeymoon if you're intersted)

  • Thanks! Do you think I would ever want to wear jeans there or leave the jeans at home?
  • We also went there for our Honeymoon.  As for the guys, shorts and a t-shirt to breakfast was ok, but definitely khakis and a nicer shirt to dinner. Certain restaurants (namely for dinner) had dress codes.  My DH wore khakis and a short-sleeved polo every night to dinner and that was fine.  He never wore a dress shirt or anything.  They definitely wouldn't let you into a place dressed for the pool unless you eat outside at he grill by the pool.

As for suggestions for you, I basically brought a sundress or two that I wore to dinner with sandals and then I brought a couple of stretchy skirts or flowy skirts that I was able to wear virtually any cute top with.  These were very versatile and could be worn just about anywhere- on the beach over my swimsuit, on an excursion, or to dinner. I was there in November and I never wore pants.  They do not really care about halter, sleeveless etc. as long as your boobies aren't pouring out of your top LOL!

Have a great time!  It is beautiful.  GREAT snorkeling out on the reef and I agree with PP- the Hibachi was so much fun!  We went there on DH's birthday and they made a fun dessert for him and gave us sake shots.  :)

I definitely think I'd leave them at home
