Mere's story about Serendipity and meeting up with her DH again made me think of some random coincidences that happened between DH and I.
We realized that his Mom and my Mom actually went to HS together and graduated the same year, despite him growing up in Lansing and me growing up in Livonia.
We both have older brothers named Matt. His brother Matt is married to a Sarah.
His birthday is the same as my SIL (now ex SIL, but whatever) AND my aunt.
And his aunt just so happened to be married to one of my teachers in HS.
This doesn't have to do with my DH, but I have the same birthday as my other SIL.
Does anyone have any crazy coincidences like that to share? Doesn't have to be regarding your DH.
Re: Strange Coincidences
DH and I were both given these "I am a Lutheran" antique pendant necklaces passed on to us from relatives for our confirmations. I've never seen anyone else have one.
We also have the same random creeeeeepy cast iron clown bank from when we were kids. I always find that kind of strange.
The first time my extended family met DH they immediately said "You're going to marry him". When I asked why they'd say that they told me it was because his name was "David". Seems like we have double of almost every name in our extended family so they were convinced he was the one I'd marry.
We have 2 Beths (both married into different families), 2 Kevins (cousin and cousin-in law/ BILs), 2 Daves (my dh and my dad's twin), 2 Christophers (my bro and my cousin). It all makes for some confusing times at gift giving- to the point they are given gifts with their last names on them. (Both Beth's are Beth B. too)
While going through some old photos of HS, my husband noticed one of his closest friends parents in the background (at a track meet)-- this is the same friend that was dating my friends friend. The we watched some home video that dh had from track meets and I'm in most of them in the background. We never met in HS.

Losing it...Without Losing it
Hmm. Well my parents met in Brody complex at MSU and DH and I met in Brody (different dorms though).
DH's parents are highschool sweethearts and have only ever dated each other. My dad is my mom's first boyfriend and my mom is my dad's first "serious" relationship. DH and I have ever only dated each other.
DH lived only 20 minutes from my grandparents growing up yet I lived in Minnesota.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
ETA: Non-DH related. My roommate my freshman year of college had my mom's college roommate as a teacher in middle school. That was always a "what a small world" kind of thing.
MIL and my mom have the same birthday! It makes it super easy to remember to send cards!
Plus they celebrate together sometimes. It's cute!

My sister and MIL have the same name.

Not about DH, but...
My mom's birthday is January 23. My birthday is March 21.
So...she's 1-2-3 and I'm 3-2-1. I just think that's pretty cool.

We have so many, its kind of crazy.
- We were born in Plymouth despite growing up in different cities
- My family moved back to Plymouth for 1 year, and DH and I went to the same elementary school for 1 year. He likely walked right past my house on his way to school!
- The church my family went to in Plymouth was right around the corner from his house.
- We both played in the U of M campus band for a couple years at the same time, but never met.
- We both come from families with 4 kids.
- We both have 2 sisters and 1 brother.
- In both our families, the first 3 kids are spaced 2 years apart, followed by a big gap, then child #4 (it's a 6 year gap in my family, 10 years in DH's).
- We both have a sister named Mary, my other sister is Katie, his is Kathy. My brother's name is Andrew John, his brother is John.
- Both our dads are named John.
- We both played soccer growing up and our dads were our coaches.
- Michael (my DH's name) was my favorite boys name growing up. I named a baby doll "Mikey" and we even have a home video of me playing with Mikey and singing a song about him. My family loved sharing that story with my DH...
Yeah!! And my oldest brother was in band with your BIL, and my other brother played baseball with your DH. I'm pretty sure your FIL might have even coached a team or two while they were growing up, but I could be wrong.
