Cheap place to get helium balloons?
I've gotten helium balloons at a party store before, but I feel like that is pretty $$. Is there a cheaper way to get balloons for a party? I'm talking about regular rubber balloons, not fancy mylar.

Re: Cheap place to get helium balloons?
Some Dollar Stores (or whatever equivalent near you) have them, but I don't have experience with actually getting them blown up there... I hope they would do that but you might want to call first.
I worked at Hallmark for many years in high school/college and my location blew up latex balloons. You could call one near you to price it out. (I know you're in Springfield... I worked at the big one in Burke on Keene Mill/Lee Chapel... they still do balloons.)

Yep, Dollar Tree at Rose Hill Shopping Center has them for (you guessed it) $1 each. I've found that they don't hold the helium for as long as the ones you get at the party stores but they're good for a couple of days.
Definitely the Dollar Store. That's where I always go. They also have cheap party supplies.
After I spent WAY too much on DS's 1st birthday party balloons, my neighbor told me about the Dollar Store having them. I was like, DUH! I should so go there and buy stuff like that (and wrapping paper, etc...)
I feel that the Dollar Tree in the shopping plaza across from Trader Joe's in Fairfax City has a better balloon selection than the one in the Safeway shopping plaza in Annandale. But they hold up well. We've had them hold up for almost a month. (I was ready to destroy the balloon, but it kept DD happy.)
ETA: I re-read your post. I was talking about the mylar one staying up for forever.
