Holy Rain, Batman!

It's crazy rainy here!

Like 6" over the night - now, that may not be a lot for some of you, but here that's insane.. especially since we've been 20+" below in average rain totals.

Hope it stops for the weekend!

I had to go an a$$ backwards way to work because the road I normally take was closed due to flooding.

  • Yeah, it is going to hit my area by lunchtime today.   I am prepared, I guess.

It will be clear after today (and a couple straggler storms tomorrow morning), so the weekend should be clear and sunny, maybe just slightly chillier than it was before the rain.   At least that's what the weather peeps were saying this morning on the news.

I might feel this way more often if our city had proper drainage systems.   Instead, it's a PITA because half our intersections end up getting flooded and you either get "stuck" sitting somewhere till it dies down or having to drive out of the way to find a clear road.    Sucks being below sea level sometimes... damn gulf coast!

I am a fan of rocking thunderstorms or summer storms that aren't feezing.

Hopefully you guys get some relief soon!

I get both of these. I grew up in a rainforest, so I love the rain. There's something about falling asleep to the noise, or playing in puddles... However after living in Houston for 4.5 years, I get what a PITA it is. I spent several afternoons pulled over in parking lots off of Richmond waiting for the water to go down, or hoping my little car would make it through big @ss puddles. I don't miss that flooding!
