Funny Quote

As I begin cycle 9 of TTC, this quote seems to get it right...

"Nature has got it all wrong: When you are younger, it should be harder to get pregnant, and as you get older it should be easier. When you are so ready, you can?t do it to save your life. And when you are 21, you are so not ready, but you are ripe as could be. The eggs should become more developed the older you get, not die slowly from the day you?re born. That?s one thing God got wrong.? ? Halle Berry

GL and I agree I know so many people who are struggling these days and then you see all these people who are so young popping out kids left and right living off Child support and expecting society to raise their kids

  • So true. While it's nice that y'know, I'm in a stable, loving relationship, have more financial security (sorta) and am a more mature person overall (debatable), I would LOVE for just a little bit of my 21-year-old energy. Or how about the ability to thrive with no sleep. I could do anything without sleep when I was 21. Those things would be so helpful now.

How does "living off child support" equate to "expecting society to raise their kids".  Child support is money and material support provided by the parent of a child for the child's upbringing. Where does the contribution of society fit in that equation?

OP, I so wish fertility worked on a bell curve that peeked closer to 35 and allowed most women to conceive well into their 40s if they desired..  I don't think it would be ideal for someone 55+ to be at the height of their fertility, but it certainly doesn't fit our social structure to have 16 year olds having babies either.
