Re: POLL: Vacuum Cord

  • I am semi-lazy.  I wrap the cord around my arm (hold in hand, wrap around elbow) until it is all wrapped, and then I hook the top loops that I had been holding in my hand to the top hook on the vacuum.  I don't like it when it is wrapped around both hooks on the vacuum because it is a pain to unwind.  With my wrapping technique I can just lift off the top hook and go.

This is what I do to .... if I "pick-up" the vacuum. For the most part the thing is always out, as there are usually cheerios always on my floor.

  • I wrap it back around each time...DH sets the vacuum to the side and tosses the cord toward it, so it pooled around the vacuum/on the floor.
  • I wrap it neatly and circularly around the hooks, while DH just throws the vacuum into the closet with the cord thrown on the floor next to it. He is so lazy when it comes to wrapping the cord up.

Finally a Mrs as of June 7, 2008

Yeah I don't  know how you girls with kids and no dogs deal with it. Food never stays on the floor for more than a half second.  :)

I keep mine wrapped around the hooks, I don't like the cord out the whole way, just what I need and it makes it easier to unwrap as I go.

This is one of the best things about having a dog.

I swear his favorite food are cheerios/ fruit loops because they are always an a floor somewhere be it the house or the car. He gets excited just seeing the box.

Funny. Evie now goes to her snack area and asks for a snack. I give it to her and she proceeds to feed the dogs. Ugh! Then she gets upset when I won't give her any more food to feed them..

    Yep.  Ditto.

  • I'm a circular wrapper, DH cris-crosses. Do you guys not have hooks that flip around to drop the cord? I wouldn't wrap mine if I had to unwrap it every time I used it.

    Happiest place on Earth!
