Tpa area nesties Rec: Your ideas for my 40th Bday!!
Yes I am hitting the big 40. I will be having a bday dinner with my family and then hitting the town after !! I wanted to find a really great place for dinner. Any hot new restaurants and/or bars you would recommend. I am kind of a foodie so I would love somewhere really nice. Then somewhere for drinks and dancing, but not too young not too old !! LOL Thanks!!!

Happy bday to you. I love food too and I love restaurants.
Have you been to Brio yet? It's at International Mall and although it's a chain, it's new to us in Tampa and I think it's very yummy. Then you could go next door to Blue Martini. Blue Martini is an upscale bar/club that has 30-50 year olds I would say, and they usually have some great live music for dancing. Also, for some other restaurant options nearby, check out Kona Grill -- yumm -- on Spruce right across from the mall. They also just reopened Ceviche in South Tampa and although I wouldn't say it's reallly nice as in fancy, the tapas are delicious and it's a fun atmosphere. Another great restaurant is Oystercatchers which is at the Grand Hyatt on Rocky Point. It's pricey but the food is very good especially if you like seafood, and it's on the water. In North Tampa, I've heard really good things about Grille 16 but I haven't been there yet. I know it's very cool and loungy.
These are all great places...I would also add Berns but the dinners there are a little longer and you leave feeling pretty full, I am not sure if you would want to dance! You could try the new Brazilian steakhouse, Texas de Brazil. I love those places and if you sign up for their email you can get a birthday coupon which might be up to 1/2 off your party.
Congrats on the birthday and have fun!!!
I didn't know it closed. Do you know why? I have a friend who is a manager but we've sadly broken up after I stupidly tried to hook her up with a friend of H's and it didn't work out.
I love Mise en Place and that is the first place I thought of when I read this post. A bit expensive but worth it for a special occasion. I went there for my "last night out" with the ladies before getting married. It was awesome!!
