Ojo

How are your hips feeling today? Did you call the doctor yet? Hope your feeling great today!

And PS where did your ticker go?

Re: Ojo

  • I'm definitely better after having spent all yesterday afternoon and evening in a horizontal position with heat pads tucked all around my lady parts.  I'm sitting on one now and will hang out on the couch in our break room every couple hours to relieve some of the pressure.

The nurse said keep doing what I'm doing with Tylenol and heat pads.  They said if it gets as bad as it did yesterday they'll prescribe muscle relaxers, but I'm obviously concerned about that, being by myself and wanting to be coherent in case anything goes wrong with a dog or the house.  Hopefully it won't come to that.  I'm sure if things get bad, my MIL will come stay with me if I need her to.

I need a ticker change, just haven't decided what yet!

  • Oh I'm so glad that rest and heating pads are helping and that your feeling a little better!

And I'm glad your MIL can come help if it gets to that point.

  • I hope you get to feeling better. I had the same problem with my last pregnancy. I found that heating pad helped and hip flexers (it was kind of modified).

    Wishing you luck!

  • I can't remember how far along you are, but when I was around 18 weeks I ended up in the ER with cramps so bad I thought I had miscarried. Turns out it was just the round ligament pains.

My doctor suggested trying a support belt. Not pretty, but it did the trick.

  • The babies are measuring 15 weeks.

It's not cramps, it's all.the.time., and it's definitely not round ligament pain.  I asked about it at my 12 week appointment and they said it was way too early.  This is the bone in my pubic area, as if I've been repeatedly kicked.  Dr. Google says it's some kind of pelvic displasia caused by the hormone relaxin, which is basically causing the cartilege in my pelvic bone to relax and open wide for delivery.  It happens as early as the first trimester, so it's not an indication of early delivery/dialation/anything like that.

I'm doing really gentle stretches, but to be honest, it feels like my pelvis is about to break in half.
