How long did you date your DH/FI before getting engaged? About 13 months of actual dating, but I "knew" him for about 4 months prior to dating.

We were engaged for 19 months before we got married. We were engaged in March and I wanted an October wedding. I didn't think we would be able to pull together a wedding in 7 months so we waited another year.

Making me think this morning! We dated for almost 3 years and were engaged about 1.5yrs.
We didn't want that long of an engagement but his brother got engaged a few months before us and his mom made a big stink to H about how we couldn't get married before them.
Not entirely sure why it mattered to her or whether BIL/SIL actually cared at all but we figured it wasn't worth the fight.

That is so stupid. Why do parents make such a big deal about this stuff?! Who even cares? It's not like when you tell people "Yeah, my two sons X and Y got married" that they'll be like "ohhhh, well what order did they get married in?"
