Since I got up so early (5 AM, bleh) I figured I'd start our day off.
Today is park tour day at work! We'll be visiting both parks and doing everything we can fit into one day; rides, shows, everything. Very excited for that!
Also we have two new members of our furfamily. On old friend and his gf were no longer able to keep their two little dogs, Matty and Tommy, so we've taken them in until Sunday when we'll be bringing them to my mom's. They are the cutest little dogs and my mom is excited to give her dog some playmates.
What are you all up to today?

Re: Good Morning!
Good morning!
I'm just heading out to work. Last night I slept pretty well again and was able to get up and go to the gym so I'm feeling good.
My shift today at work should hopefully run smoothly since I actually have an intern with me to do much of the work and then I just make sure he's doing it properly and pick up the rest of the slack. He's a hard worker and pretty smart so the past 2 days have gone well. I'm hoping to get out 15 minutes early today because we have prenatal classes tonight and I want to get home to have dinner before we have to leave. Otherwise I have to stay in the city and get fast food. I would rather have grilled cheese and soup...yum.
Have a good day.
Mmmmmmm, grilled cheese and soup. Tomato soup? It has to be tomato soup. :P
Joshan, that sounds like quite possibly the best day of work ever.
Last night was pretty good. I actually got Derek to do the dishy/tidy the kitchen while I was prepping dinner. It makes things so much easier/faster. Then we watched Top Chef (the Cattle Baron's Ball episode) and got to work! Derek rangled 2 cabinets into position, but then couldn't fully install them as I was working on drywall mud touch-ups and he needed to cut. Wet mud + saw dust = disaster, so that was a no go.
Re: his job struggles lately, there are new condos going up all over the city, and the customer service guys at Derek's current development put in a good word for him with the flooring installation company for one that's starting installation soon with over 500 units. He's going to call them this week, and hopefully they'll take him on. He's been with his current boss for 8 years and he's just getting diicked around. He's sick of it and rightfully so.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
I am so on a grilled cheese and tomato soup kick lately. Yum.
Joshan - I agree, that sounds like a great day of work.
Raynes - I hope things work out for Derek, and he gets a new job soon.
I am still trying to get fully over this cold, now I have a cough. Grrr. It's been crazy at work, and am already ready for Friday to be here. I am considering applying for a manger position within another area of the company, and have set up a job shadow next week to see if I want to. The only thing that scares me is that it is a call center, and I worked in that call center for 5 years. I have heard things have gone down hill for that area of the company, but at the same time manager positions do not open up often, so I am torn.
Otherwise, same old evening routine. Have a great day everyone.
Good morning. Not much going on over here--last night was a work happy hour, and it was fun, but it also cemented for me that, with our office re-org, things are not going well for my team. I had already spent the weekend working on my resume. Makes me sad because I'd so looked forward to this job, but our new supervisor is driving us in a direction that I left the other job to avoid. I'm doing things a writer should not be doing. Damn.
Tonight I'm on my own, so I plan on running at the gym, then having a light dinner before sitting down to read for a while. I also need to finish polishing up the short piece of fiction I have to take with me to my class tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good one.
Good morning, ladies.
Now I want grilled cheese and tomato soup.
I had a very good spin class this morning, and feel great right now. And, I'm very proud of my successful negotiation with the exW over the taxes. She agreed to my proposal, and DH was very impressed with how I handled the situation. Score!
Have a great Wednesday, everyone!
Good morning.
I am going back to the eye doctor this afternoon because these new glasses just aren't cutting it. The up close vision is great and I love it, but the distance not so much. I put on my old pair last night and they were much better. So, both pairs are going with me and we are going to see if a) they made the glasses wrong or b) the prescription is wrong. I just hope I don't end up paying through the azz to get them corrected. They were expensive enough the first time.

Chica - That sucks. It would've been nice to know those things ahead of time I suppose. Chalk it up to more experience I guess.
Raynes - FX Derek finds a job he loves soon.
JoShan - You're my hero. I want to play at a park for work. (i know that's not a daily routine but still!)
I finally got Jackson to sleep about 11 hours last night. So amazing. I, unfortunately, was all fired up, because DH didn't get home from work until 11. I just find it so ridiculous that he's working these crazy hours when other people at his office don't put in that kind of time. I told him flat out this morning that I didn't sign up to do this life on my own. I really hope he figures out his priorities soon. It's only going to get worse as more deadlines arise. I hate it, because he makes a lot of money doing what he does, and it keeps us afloat, but at what cost?
Tonight will be another sorry attempt to get some sleep. I do have another recipe to try, so at least I know what's on tap for tonight, rather than figuring out dinner 5 minutes before I'm starving. New Grey's tonight?
JoShan: have fun at "work" today!
I was up half the night because I couldn't sleep, and I'm feeling it today. I have a ton of work to do before I leave on Friday, so I really can't afford to be so out of it. Plus, I have to leave a bit early for an acupuncture appointment today. Tomorrow will be a busy day, so hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
raynes, I'm sending job vibes Derek's way.
Last night was productive. I spent a good portion of the evening in the kitchen making dinner, breakfast for today, and lunch for today. It's nice to have my meals all planned out and know that I'll be eating at least somewhat healthy.
Tonight I don't have any major plans. Dinner is in the crockpot but I'll need to make a side dish. Otherwise I'm hoping for a workout and some TV time.
Good morning!
Last night was pretty relaxing overall. I tried a new soup recipe in the Crockpot that was delicious and I made grilled cheese and bacon sandwich's, yum! With all the grilled cheese talk this morning I could really go for another one today! After dinner I folded some laundry and watched Teen Mom.
Today is going to be pretty busy at work since I'm taking tomorrow off for a close family friend's funeral.
good morning! this week has been a breeze - my boss (daddio) is in Vegas for a concrete convention, so I've been able to actually get some work done without him bothering me all day. it's wonderful.
tonight we're having tacos for dinner, and I reaaaaally need to start cleaning up around the house. it's been ignored for the last few weeks. tomorrow is our first appointment, so I will make sure I get to bed at a decent hour tonight. other than that, we'll probably watched some DVR'd shows like normal.

Morning ladies! I finally have some breathing room at work. The last of my all in a row closings closed yesterday, and now I just have some normal to-dos on my list. The down time may be short lived, but I'm going to enjoy it while it's here.
Susi, I'm so sorry to hear that things at your job aren't going as planned. I know you were so excited about taking the job. It's good that your recognizing the problems and being proactive. If it makes you feel any better, I've been in the same situation before, and seeing what else is out there is definitely the way to go.
Raynes, sending good thoughts to Derek, and Eva, too, for Eric (I know you've been posting about his job).
Yesterday, B and I went to the Hawks game in the evening. They lost, but we still had fun. There's nothing on the agenda for tonight, so hopefully just dinner together and relaxation.
Joshan- I think I need to come work with you!
Raynes- Good luck to Derek hope he gets the job.
Lespaul- So glad it worked out and kuddos to you for standing up and handeling things nicely!
Mandee- good luck at your appt tomorrow!
Nothing new on my agenda tonight same ole thing and hopefully getting in a work out. I am pretty discourage with my weight loss journey. I don't know what the problem is but I am not loosing anything I am hoping I start to see some results soon or I am afraid I am going to give up.
Hey ladies! Nothing much going on today for me, I'm still settling in but really loving this new job. Tonight I think E and I are going to try and figure out an itinerary for my mom's visit. She's coming out next Thursday and will be here over 2 weekends so we want to plan lots of fun California stuff to do!
Joshan that does sound like the best day of work ever.
Raynes, hope things work out on the job front soon for Derek!
Mandee goo luck at the appt! Let us know how it goes.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
I am just finishing up stuff for school. Works is going pretty good, I am just getting mixed messages from my boss and my coworkers about what I should be doing with the kids. The house is starting to feel better though.
I had a Spanish test today and then I have a presentation in Spanish tomorrow and then I have to get ready for another test on Friday. I can't wait for the weekend so I have some room to breath!
It also doesn't help that I have had heartburn and some other tummy issues on and off since Sunday, I have been trying to eat better and not drink as much coffee and Coca-Cola, it seems to helping a little bit.
I am going to try and stay positive!
Snoopy and Tobi--thanks, ladies. I'm definitely putting into the "lessons learned" category and keeping an eye open for opportunities here and there.
Ugh...hello. I haven't dropped off the face of the planet totally. Between being crazy busy at work and then feeling terrible at night and falling asleep at 7:30, I have just been lurking.
Nothing much new here though. The next three weeks are my busiest of the year at school with our Winter Carnival coming up, but then I am off to Florida...I can make it!
