Dinner Help needed quick

My DH (bless his hear - being sarcarastict!!!) has decided to try something new for dinner today.  He basically took some boneless pork chops in the slow cookers with some veggie broth and seasonings... it was bland midway though so he added white vinegar and that's ALL you can taste.

Is there a way to cut the taste of the vinegar and try and to salvage the meat?  I tried a tiny piece and that's all I could taste.

Re: Dinner Help needed quick

  • Barbecue sauce and serve it on a bun?  I have no idea if it will solve, but it will certainly add some sweet and complexity,  You could also just make a quick homemade bbq sauce and skip the vinegar in the recipe in case your bottled one is too tangy.
  • I was going to suggest the BBQ option as well. It should work! If the vinegar is still too strong, add some honey too.
  • Is it still in the cooker?  1/8 t. of baking soda per cup of food should help balance.

If you're still looking for more help after that, use sugar AND acid, so something like a sweet BBQ sauce or brown sugar and tomato sauce will do it.
