Bias tape maker/machine?

I saw that Simplicity makes one for around $50 on sale...

I have been using a lot of bias tape lately for sewing projects and need to cut the cost (and I want more fabric options).  I want the easiest way possible (and cheapest) to make my own.

Any suggestions or tips?

Re: Bias tape maker/machine?

  • The machine that cuts strips is kind of hard to use, and I don't mind cutting strips with my rotary cutter anyway, but the machine that irons the strips is totally worth it to me.  I love that thing.lol
  • I don't have the cutter, but I do have the bias tape maker (the iron part).  If you are doing a lot of bias tape, it is well worth it IMO.

  • No, but you can run it though again.  Check out prudent baby for a video :)
