this week is killing me.
1. our wonderful healthcare system made some changes to how claims are sent and now none of my medicare claims are being rec'd by medicare. i just sat on hold for 45 minutes before i could even talk to someone about this little issue...now i'm on hold..again
2. DH & i went and had physicals done back in November bc if we didn't our insurance is going to charge us an extra $15/wk (WTF?) ... so i got the EOBs back from our insurance and the Dr didn't bill it as a physical, they billed it as a regular office visit.. I told/asked before we left how it needed to be billed, and asked if thats how they would bill it.. give me a break here people, it's basic.
3. i am so over DH being out of town. for real. this is week number 9.
4. my house appraised for 30k more than all the other houses on my street. they valued it at more than we bought it for.. How does that even happen in this economy? my taxes are out the ass. so now i have to go to the tax people and find out WTH my house appraised for so much more than the houses next door when they are the exact same house..
5. i have to reverify that DH & I are married. this annoys me. i have to send in our marriage cert. & our 1040 from last year to DHs company so i can remain on his insurance..

I realize i'm being totally whiney. I can't call Chris because he is forever busy @ work, and by time he get off work at night, done w/ dinner its late and we are both tired and don't want to talk on the phone. i could never do a long distance relationship. this relationship over the phone is for the birds.
That's insane about your appraisal but didn't you get an amazing deal on your home b/c your Dad was building it?
I just found out that our new neighbor paid $55K for their house. Its the same model as ours without the upgrades. They better come back out and do an appraisal on ours.

It depends what your idea of an amazing deal is, I guess. We didn't get it for free, which is what some people think. We definitely have a 30yr mtg on it. We paid more than we could sell it for right now... although the appraiser seems to think differently.
I called the appraisers office, and they said some crap about our house is 3yrs newer, with 300sqft of living space more than our neighbors (which my Dad says is wrong) .. but the big difference is that they had the neighbors house coded for the wrong type of foundation. -- good thing our neighbors already hate us, bc their taxes are going up next year.
we have stilt homes, and they had theirs coded for something different. so the guy changed it and next year their house will value for more.
their house appraised for about 30k less than ours. the coding error accounts for 13k, and the sqft dif is about 15k. I'm debating whether or not I want them to come out and re-measure our house.
they have it as 30x60, but my dad says its 30x56...which i guess is difference of 120sq ft.. this mess is so confusing..and this is why I need Chris home.
The county I live in currently has my house valued at $38K or something. Ha. That's not even close. I have no clue when the last time the appraised my house was! Maybe the year it was built, which was 1941? Who knows. But then again, we pay next to nothing in taxes because we get an Agriculture exemption, so I guess they don't even bother reassessing our home.
Maybe you should get some cows? Ha!

I had to laugh at the cows! That would be something people in Hernando County would do! I can see it now! 'I got a nice place on the canal, with 50 cows in my back yard'! LOL

Kathy, he should be home thursday or friday. He's been home on the weekends, but he has a million and a half projects going on w/ his boat, so he works on that every weekend.
SCJB - we are "near" the water, but we are not on the water - I need to check out some properties that are on the water- Our street and one other street are the only ones (on our side of the boat ramp) w/o water front lots - so I can't see how they can compare our house to other houses in the area..
it's not only the property appraisers fault, it's our stupid banks fault. but i don't have the time to get into that mess.
OMG, since my H got a boat I never, ever see him on the weekends! He is either working on his boat or out on the water. I don't know why I ever agreed for him to get a boat. It's not like I have ever been on it........somebody has got to watch Macy and it's me
It's a stupid Flats Boat and I am afraid that she would fall overboard since the boat is literally flat with no railing.

I know you didn't think we got it for free - our other neighbor has said something multiple times about how she can't believe my Dad made us pay for the house. ..
The weird thing is that my Dad used to be really good friends w/ the neighbor right next door. Like, they grew up together, they've done multiple houses together.. but all the sudden this guy just started hating my Dad. When we started building the house chris parked his truck in the neighbors driveway so that the Lowes truck could get in the yard to deliver something and the guy called a tow truck.... (he doesn't actually live in the house, so Chris was not bothering anyone. and we don't know if it was Mr. T the other of the house, or the other neighbor that hates my dad Mr.O who called Mr T. or called the tow company pretending to be Mr. T) ... either way, Chris truck was out of the driveway before the tow company even got there.
Mr. O has "I sued T.G (my dads initials) & won" on the back of his truck in vinyl lettering.. we live by idiots.
Ohhh, the boat. About 2 weeks ago I told Chris he was grounded from talking to me about the boat for a week. He actually did not mention the boat for the entire week, but when he got home on the weekend he said, "can I talk about the boat now? the week is over".. Heh.
The projects will NEVER be over. He's actually fixing up the john boat to sell next year. He's going to build his own boat in 2013. He's been wanting to build his own boat for a while now, and we figured out that he can start in 2013 once we have everything (but the house/cars) paid off.... I can hardly wait until 2013. i'll never see him.

Oh my week is awesome. I'm on week 2 of 4 of traveling ALL WEEK LONG. I'm talking trips from Denver to Chicago to Atlanta to San Francisco to Little Rock.
Oh then, what about my first co-worker who quit today? We are already all OVER WORKED, but *** now this. I mean he pretty much wasn't contributed much, but starting from ground zero right now when I have SO much going on is going to kill me. Oh and then, I'll have to travel to San Francisco to interview, etc. etc.
Woe is me. I just really need to b!tch right now.
