Re: Lurkers who are asking for Pinterest invites
The vast majority aren't lurkers- they're worse. Just random googlers of "how long to get a pinterest invite" or something along those lines. So annoying.
I really, really, really, really wish the kind-hearted well-meaning posters here would STOP GIVING OUT INVITATIONS!!!!!! If they stopped giving them out, they'd stop coming for them.
You can't sort by last post anymore without seeing the epic thread from MAY of last year popping up every other day.
Can our moderator lock that thread? (Of course, I wish our moderator was someone who actually posted on this board)

I was all "epic thread what?"
9 pages. 9 PAGES. We don't even see 9 posts in a day.
I just stopped opening anything involving the words "Pinterest" and "invite" in the titles. I love that we're giving people and helpful people, but it'd be nice if our board saw some action from these random people asking for invites.
Just imagine if the 3 day wait to participate was still active.

Yeah, it's one thing when someone who actually has posted on this board before- even a year ago- asks. It's another when it's some whinyass who hits us up and never returns. I really kind of DO wish the Nest still had the three day waiting period before you could post- it would solve this problem pretty quickly.
ETA: I dont' know if mods can lock threads- but, I wish the original poster was still around- she could delete it (and all the child replies, too).
There'd be a frenzy of "we have to wait 3 more days for a pinterest invite because the Nest wouldn't let me join right away?!" issues then, amiright?
And just so you know, you can never change that picture. I see it and smile EVERY time.

You are true about it being random lurkers, I didn't think about that. I wasn't sure exactly how we were getting all these requests but I guess you are right they are googling it.
I do though hope if there are any lurkers out there that they would come out and play.
What epic thread? I must be out of the loop.
Nobody hates on the lurkers (although, the board is so slow most days that I don't get what's so lurk worthy- LOL). We would love to have you all pop in and comment every now and then, even if you don't feel like you have anything to post on your own thread. You have darn near close to 900 posts under your belt and have been around the Nest family of boards since 2008 at the least- AND you came back to say thank you when you got your invite- you are NOT what we're complaining about.
If you joined the Nest TODAY, have 1-3 posts (all under threads with Pinterest in the title), bump antique posts to the top because you don't know that that's extremely rude netiquette (or you just don't care), and you never bother to come back to even offer a quick thank you- well, YOU SUCK.
I'll try to be more than just a lurker and post once in awhile. Thanks.
It just encourages others to do it. And soon, this board will become the "Ask for Pinterest Board" instead of crafts. Its like feeding the trolls.
And pretty much all of them will not come back. I'm willing to send an invite if its someone who has plenty of posts under their belt, but the single post you have is about a pinterest invite and no contribution to the board or even a THANK YOU gets nothing.
