Does anyone know if USAA can lift/waive the $5,000 maximum deposit limit if the check came from them? I received a check for our roof (we had a bad hail storm on Easter) and it's above the limit they will let me deposit by phone with (but just barely).
This is the one time it sucks to not have a local bank.

Re: USAA deposit by phone ?
I don't know if they can but I'd assume that they would b/c it's a check through them. My limit is different, assuming it's because I have a credit card with them as well.
Good luck, let us know if they do!
I'm just sending it to my mom to do. KC suggested wiring it to them, but when I called tonight (and used the "lost debit card" line, whoops
) they said I can only do that with cash, which I can't do sooo... yeah. Luckily my mom's in San Antonio right next to a branch.
Ooh, phone. I misread and saw "by phone" as in cell phone app. Whoops.
How else can you deposit by phone? (that's not snarky, it's a real question)
They have a Deposit@Mobile option which is awesome and super convenient! If you have the USAA app on your smart phone just click "Transfer/Deposits", "Deposits" and then it should prompt you to log in and it will take you through the steps. You just take a picture of the front and back of the check and it should be available immediately.
You can go into a UPS store and they can deposit the check as well. I did this when I was switching accounts (I had Wells Fargo and they don't do tranfers from them) I got 2 cashiers checks which you cant deposit via home or mobile and they were over the limit.. I ended up calling them to see WTH to do, they took my zip code and gave me a list of UPS stores near me that could deposit it. All I needed was my account number.
HTH!
I have that app, but because of the limit I couldn't deposit the check.
The UPS store was a lifesaver! Thanks ladies!
