2 month shots side effect (RP)
I posted this on my month board but I figured I'd see what my HV ladies had to say. Yesterday Little T had his 2 month shots and the 1 oral vaccine. He is sleepy as well as irratable which I expected. He also has been blowing little spit bubbles and has been drooly since yesterday too. Did this happen to anyone else? One girl said she believes it has nothing to do w the shots and it's his saliva glands maturing. I'm wondering if maybe it's just a coincidence and it is his glands maturing or maybe the oral vaccine stimulated his glands or if it is in fact a sid effect. I must sound like a lunatic lol.
Re: 2 month shots side effect (RP)
I think the other mom could be right and it has nothing to do with the shots, just the normal baby drooly phase starting up. It could also be a side effect from the shots, but I wouldn't be too concerned. Maybe give it a few days and see if it stops.
A has a different reaction everytime she gets shots. After her 2 month series she slept for almost 2 days straight. After her 4 and 6 month series she ran a fever for 24 hours. Sometimes she's totally fine, other times she's cranky and tired.
We had the sleepiness for sure almost every time (except her last shots at 15 months). She was not herself after some of the shots though.
We never had the saliva thing but I agree with navy, it could just be he is discovering his mouth.
Sounds like all is normal
Your little one is so cute!
We had a lot of fussiness after the two month shots. I agree that the drool is on par developmentally and probably has nothing to do with the shots. I'd run it by the pedi if your gut is telling you otherwise
