Has anyone seen large, unframed mirrors? (restore?)

I'd like to get a couple of the big gym-type mirrors to help encourage me while working out, and make sure i'm using proper form. Do you know where they sell the big basic mirror sheets that you see at the gym? I was wondering if maybe they'd have something like it at restore?

Re: Has anyone seen large, unframed mirrors? (restore?)

  • We kind of poked around looking for the same answer when our house was being built. (and a year later our gym still doesn't have mirrors.  lol!)

    Here's what I know:

Menards has inexpensive larger mirrors but they're more like 3' x 4' so you'd need a few of them sort of like mirror tile.

You can shoot for 1/8" glass which is inexpensive and probably fine but 1/4" will give you less distortion if you're worried about accuracy.

You can also call various glass shops and see what they have for scrap. Sometimes, I'm told, you can find very large "scraps" and have them cut to size.

I'm not sure if that's helpful at all but thought I'd share.

  • I serioulsy wish I would have known this like 3mths ago! We had one in our garage, and just tossed it out :( Sorry!

Maybe check the goodwill/DAV? I bet you could find something like that.

OH-I totally dumpster dove for the mirror in our family room:

  • Thanks girls! mrsreem - i'll check out menards. we aren't going an official gym yet, i just would like to have a decent sized mirror downstairs for when i work out down there. so the 3x4 might work just fine.  good call on the glass shops too. when we do a gym, we'll probably go that route.

victoria - darn i should have posted sooner!  nice find on the living room mirror too, i'm surprised someone was tossing that out!
