One would think XH does it on purpose...
So per our divorce settlement, since I still live in the house, the bills will be in my name from now on instead of me wiring money to XH every month.
I just got an email from XH telling me he called the different companies to transfer the accounts to my name. But that's it. I have no account number or anything. Lucky me he gave the names of the companies! I am going to call them now to get an account # so I can log online and know what's going on/pay online/set up payment plans. Should be an interesting phone call! I will sure sound like a dumb idiot lol.

That's annoying, but I did the same thing to XH! I just told them he would call to set up his portion of it. The acct numbers had to change for most of the utilities though--they closed my acct and opened his new one on the same day so giving him the acct numbers woudln't really have helped because they just needed to know the address. He knew the names of the utilities because he received the bills at home.
I'd just call and say, my XH took his name of the accounts so I don't have the acct number. I'd like to set up/add my name to acct. Here is my address--it's usually linked to the address so I wouldn't worry.
Because my accts were also linked to Social Security Numbers, I couldn't set his up anyway without using his SSN without his permission--he was a DB about that and even sent me an email stating not to use his SSN except for health insurance.
I see. I called the electric company and set up my account. The change took place the 18th. So this one is all said and done. Now I need to do gas and internet.
