How many computers do you have?
How many computers (laptops, desktops, tablets, etc) do you have in your household?
We have a desktop we purchased after we were married. Ryan had a laptop and I had a laptop from before we were together. Recently, both of our laptops died (they were 4+ years old so it was time). Now I'm trying to convince Ryan we should buy another laptop. He says the desktop is fine and we don't need more than one computer.
Call me lazy but I don't want to go to the office every time I want to look something up. Plus I like to "multi-task" and surf the net while watching TV sometimes.
Re: How many computers do you have?
We have a desktop that DH bought to replace his old one when we first moved in together. He does use it, but not as often as he used to. He plays computer games every so often, too, and likes to play them on the desktop. Now that he has an iphone, he definitely uses it less. I have a laptop that I got last Christmas (2010). I much prefer the laptop for the same reason that you mentioned, I didn't like having to go into the office for just a little thing, and I also like multitasking! At this point I couldn't go back to having just a desktop.
DH also has a work laptop, but he really only uses that for work related things.
We have a laptop, a desktop that is hooked up to our TV so we can watch shows, and a iPad.
We wouldn't be able to live without our laptop. It is nice to have on vacation too s owe can both work from it.
3 laptops-soon to be 4 since S and A are out buying one as I type.
I have my dell circa 2004, my hp circa 2007 and we have an IBM that is CAD/Revit capable for S. All 3 are heading laptop heaven this weekend because they all have an issue that prevents them from being fully useful for our family. We are buying a lite 11.6 laptop right now so I can chuck it in the diaper bag as needed, and we are planning on a touchscreen hp or Mac around Christmas. We use our iPhones for most everything.besides printing.
Have you thought about getting a netbook? They're so inexpensive now, and they're small and really portable.

My H is an Apple fanatic. We have the 27 inch desktop. We each have MacBooks. He has a MacBook pro from work (that he uses now, his old MacBook sits on a shelf). He has an iPad, and we both have iPhones. Its kinda ridiculous.
3 laptops and 1 iPad... I have a super old (like 6years or so) Mac that I use on occasion. That thing is a champ.
M just got a new laptop for Christmas, plus we have his old one that is on the verge of dying. I use that one on occasion too.
We have both old laptops under the desk at home for when I can't use my iPad (ie, printing coupons). It pretty much goes where I go.
And that does not include the 5 or so old computers that are scattered throughout our garage and basement.

We have a old mac pro laptop, and DH has a mac desktop, but the screen has bit the dust so we are waiting to get another laptop-we will be getting a Mac as well.
We also have an iPad and a Fire...and iphones.
We each have a laptop, T got a brand new Lenovo in Sept, my Dell is super old (2006) and I barely ever turn it on anymore. Then I have my iPad that I use all the time, seriously it's permanently attached to me, I don't remember the last time I turned on my laptop, I use the ipad for everything. Then we have T's old broken screen Dell laptop, which he still insists on hooking up to an external monitor sometimes. And finally we have T's super old, and I mean like 1990s IBM desktop from when he was in college. I also don't remember the last time it was turned on, and he refuses to part with it. His dad was an engineer at IBM for 30 years. Oh and then I have my BB, but I hate it, we're contemplating iPhones for the 2 of us in the next couple months.
We have one functional laptop that is mostly mine, but DH uses it, too.
He has a Xoom Tablet. I have an iPad for work that I am allowed for personal use as well.
We both have smart phones as well, iPhone for him, Droid X for me.
