Kids Clothing Swap

I was thinking about all the clothes I have in my attic from when A was smaller.  If I dont have another boy, someday, what am I going to do with them?! I could pass along to friends or try to consign....

What I am wondering is maybe we could start something for all of the kiddos here?! What do you think? Someone who has a boy and now may be preggo with a girl may be looking to swap clothes. Or someone who is done having kids may be able to pass along their child(s) clothes to someone expecting.

We could even do one around the holidays for "special occasion" outfits or even Halloween Costumes.

Just wondering what people thought and if anyone else had anything to add.

:)

  • Great idea!  I have had my friends pass on their kids' clothes to me and then I bring them in to school and give them to the social worker who passes them on to the underprivileged children in the district.  If anyone has clothes that no one else can use, I will gladly take them to be handed out to the kids in my district.  I know that clothes get good use because I see the kids around school in them.  The social worker also has sizes of younger siblings that aren't in school yet.  =)

  • I think it's a great idea. At one point, I had tons of baby boy clothes that I wanted to pass down to Nesties but they were out of season for those who just gave birth. In other words; summer clother during the winter.  I ended up giving them to a friend who said she knows people to give them to.  Now I have 6-9 month stuff for anyone having a boy in the Spring. Also, a Halloween and Thanksgiving outfit he only wore once.

ETA: If  anyone needs 6-9 M lil' boy clothes, K is growing out of his.  I know sizes vary. My LO fits in 6 M shirts and 18 M pants now!
