OH EM JESUS I am quite stabby.

[[vent]]

Okay so I work in an office building with a majority of older ladies. Myself and two other girls are younger than 30. Everyone else is 35+ with the majority of them being 45+. Well I hang out with one young girl who is 3 years younger than me (27) and an older lady who is 43. This is where I'm getting frustrated.

The older lady is my close friend. We text each other, share a cube wall, and go on smoke breaks and lunch together. We hang out with our boyfriends outside of work together. This whole week her boyfriend is out of town on business and she's been a raging cuntbitchwhore to me. She's been saying things about how I'm going to get fat and I should watch what I eat now because my drs are changing my mental health meds and because I chose to eat half of a donut yesterday. She knows I have a problem with food and I had recently lost 100 lbs. So it's easy to say, she knows my trigger points. Well that was the start of it. Then today, she overheard me on the phone with my BF, and she takes me aside on our smoke break and tells me to break up with him. She says that "He is sucking me dry and I cannot take care of him." I don't take care of him. He takes care of himself. I make some doctors appointments for him sometimes because he's not from the area and doesn't know where to go, but me making drs appts for him must equal that I do everything for him. I don't even know where she's coming from because she knows him. She knows our life. Then she's on a rambling moment that I need to go to physical therapy for my back pain and not see surgeons because it's not going to help. Because she knows. She MUST be a doctor.

I don't know. I want to stab her face. I'm so fed up with people telling me how to live my life. I know I'm younger than these people and I know everyone has "life experience" or whatever, but come on. My mom doesn't even do this stuff.

*Sigh* ehh...

Any way the wind blows...

Re: OH EM JESUS I am quite stabby.

  • It sounds like she sees how unstable you've been lately and is doing her best to help because she cares.

  • Don't discuss your personal life or your various health conditions at the office. And have your personal phone calls with your boyfriend when you're at home, instead of at work, and this won't happen to you.

SO SINGS MY SOUL *WHAM!* MY SAVIOR GOD TO THEE *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!*
  • I know she is your friend but try to step back and not take what she says personally.  It is up to you to follow her advice or not but that is all it is , just advice and opinion of another person.  It does not mean you have to take it.

But I agree with the other pp, I think she cares but if she is truly your friend, you should be able to say that you don't agree with her (of course in nice way) and move on from the subject without holding a grudge.  People will always have an opinion based on their own belief system and really, it is more about them than it is you.

  • Agree about not taking your personal life to work, and then you won't have to worry about unwanted input.

If she really is a good friend, it's interesting to note that she thinks your BF is bad for you, yet you don't want to listen.  It's rare that such a good friend has issues with a BF without any valid reasons at all.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

I also agree.  Not to mention a bunch of internet strangers said your BF is bad for you too...
