A while back, my sister won two round-trip, first class tickets on Sun Country via a "retweet to win" promotion. The flights are only good to Washington D.C. or Minneapolis from our local airport. She entered because her boyfriend at the time was living in DC for work and she thought she could visit him twice since the tix can be used individually (they're transferrable also.) However, they've since parted ways, so she was considering maybe making a trip with me to Mall of America or whatever just to get use out of the tickets which have been sitting in her glove compartment for a couple of months now.
Today, she went to our family dentist. Our hygienist Mary is about 35. She was doing my sister's cleaning when she told her that her younger sister (31 with 2 young children) was just diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer... and she lives in Minneapolis.
When the appointment was over, my sister walked out to her car, got the tickets, and handed them to Mary. She gave her a hug and told her to go see her sister.
All the ladies behind the desk cried... and when my sister called to tell me what just happened, so did I. She's 23 and I'm just so proud of her selflessness.

All of this. That was incredible of your sister to do. There is a reason she hadn't gotten around to using the tickets yet...and this is it!
Ditto all of this.
Thank you so much for saying that... what a humbling compliment.
I was so wowed by what she did because most 23 year olds I know would much rather go to the MoA and fly first class with champagne and all of that and she had zero qualms about giving that up for this person. It's compounded by the fact that she is totally broke right now trying to finish her second degree and hasn't been on a vacation in a really long time.
I also told her that she will be rewarded by her decision and I hope that is true.
Aw... Star, that's so awesome. Naylon is right, your parents have two great daughters
