Was your realtor at your closing (buyer)?
On our closign date, my realtor has an appointment he doesn't think he can change. He suggested we try and change our closing date. That sounds like it would be a bigger pain than just doing the closing without him? What do you think?

Our first house, yes the realtor was there. She didn't do anything except meet us in the parking lot and walk us in. She was friends with the seller's realtor and the two of them went and chatted in another room while we did paperwork.
We are closing on our second house next week and our realtor will also be coming, but he's a friend of ours and is also helping us move afterwards (he is really earning is commission lol)
No. He was supposed to be but he blew it off. (I told you he was a tool.)
It was fine without him.

I typically attend the sign off (we sign off about a 4-7 days before closing in CA). My roll at the sign off is very little, I am there mostly for moral support and in case some question comes up. But even if something does, we have days to sort it out before recording and transfer. I would say that I attend about 99% of my sign offs but I have had conflicts in the past and have missed one. I make sure everyone is prepared and follow up afterwards.
My two cents worth, don't change the closing date.

He was present, although all he did was sit in the corner and read a book. Like PP said, he was probably just there for moral support or in case a question came up. I would be fine closing without an agent present in the future.
