How's dh doing after his surgery??

Re: kellie

  • Thanks for checking in Lauren! He is doing ok. Really his recovery is going as well as can be expected and nearly all of the nerve pain is gone and he mostly just has surgical site pain. I think more than anything he is frustrated with how much he can't do, but at least that is temporary. No bending, twisting or lifting for at least 2 weeks, then they wil reassess how much he can start to do. FIL is here for 2 weeks to help around the house so that is good :)

  • so glad the nerve pain is gone! That would be so hard to be 'still' like that for two whole weeks. I know he's going crazy! Glad yall have help and I hope his recovery continues to go well!
  • Glad to hear his recovery is going well after the op. How is Ellie doing? Is her sickness all cleared?
  • Glad to hear everything is going good and that he is on the road to recovery. Glad your FIL can be there.

Like Caroline said how is Ellie doing? I hope she has gotten over all her sickness.

  • Hey ladies sorry I have been slow to respond but there has been more craziness! Thank you for asking about Ellie! She is doing better and her diarrhea is gone. She is still having runny nose and a terrible cough thy wakes her during the night, but at least she can go to daycare and is back on her rice cereal, yay! DH on the other hand has had a rough few days. He woke up dizzy and lightheaded with a fast Heartrate on Tues morning. He went to the doctor and they decided to admit him for observation and an MRI to check the surgical site. They have done loads of tests and all they am determine is he is hypotensive so when he sits or stands his blood pressure drops and his Heartrate goes up. They done multiple rounds of bloodwork, EKGs, etc and all results come back normal. He also had a low grade temp so they think he may have caught a viral bug and between that and the stress of recovering from surgery is causing the issue. They also think he was dehydrated because even though he was drinking a ton of water, he was peeing a lot and IV fluids seemed to help stabilize his BP and Heartrate, so maybe an electrolyte imbalance. They discharged him this morning, so he is now home resting.
