EuropeanDestinations.com?

I know a couple of you have mentioned that you used this site, or considered it and found it cheaper on your own.  How???  I'm looking at about $3200 for DH and I to go to Italy for 9 days (Venice, Florence, and Rome).  I can pick hotels in each city from a list, and then I'm comparing the price through hotels.com, travelocity, and the hotel's site.

When I price out doing it myself, I'm looking at about a thousand dollars more, and that doesn't include train tickets between cities!

Why wouldn't I do this?  I feel like I'm missing something!  If so, please let me know asap.  I'm about to pull the trigger.

Re: EuropeanDestinations.com?

  • I think they have a great site and if it fulfills everything you are looking to do then I say book it!  Make sure you triple check your air dates/times, and hotel check ins/outs.
  • We used europeandestinations.com to book a trip to Rome, Florence, Venice, and Geneva in 2008.  I do feel like we got a good deal, but my only caveat is that the hotels were not in the city centers.  I kind of liked that, especially in Rome, we got to see some neighborhoods and the public transportation was super convenient.  Also the "recommended" hotel they picked in Geneva was in a red light district so I switched to another hotel with good reviews on tripadvisor.com.

Overall I do recommend their site as long as you research the hotels (reviews + location) and are satisfied.

  • Are they the same exact hotels that you are pricing on other sites?  $1000 seems like something is off there.
Like any good super hero, I'm using my alter ego to protect my identity. Goodbye Silver poster status!
