Mom's recovering

My mom had her hysterectomy on Tuesday.  We talked on Monday and told me her surgery was at noon.  She said she would have someone call me when she was out.  I also updated her about K's fall and stitches.

I spent most of Tuesday thinking about her and wondering how things were going.  By 4pm I had heard nothing, so I called my grandparent's house to see if they had news.  There was no answer so I left a message.  Around 6:30 my grandma finally called, my mom was still in surgery!  However, it had gotten pushed back so she didn't even go in until 3pm.  Grandma said to give it a bit more time then try my mom's cell since my step-dad had it.

He finally called shortly after 8:30.  He said mom was finally done and in her room.  Apparently the surgery took so long because her uterus was really large and had a bunch of scar tissue.  But everything went fine.

She called me today to let me know she's being discharged.  Her doctor said that she's sending my mom's uterus to a pathologist to determine what was wrong with it.  I'm just glad she's OK, and won't be having any more lady problems.

She does go back in about 4 weeks to have her gallbladder removed.  They couldn't do both at the same time.  Hopefully that surgery goes much better.
