Using CDs past one year

Any one have luck using CDs past a year? We haven't had any problems until this week. Two nights Abe has woke up and is saturated all the way through to the mattress pad.

Re: Using CDs past one year

  • We only used CDs after 1 year... sometimes we had to add an extra insert but they did fine with their CDs... sometimes I would have to do an extra soak on the diapers if they were really wet.

  • I should add that he currently has two inserts in his night time dipes.
  • Hemp inserts.  Haven't had a leak since we used one of those at night. They're only like $3 a piece. I use them with the microfiber inserts and have had no problems.

  • No hemp liner held in per overnight. I tried a few. DD sleeps 12-13 hours a night and since she doesn't eat much during the day she fills up on milk at night. So, oddly enough, the really thin Nature Babycare disposable diapers are what we use overnight for the past few months. Luckily, she's doing awesome with potty training so we'll be done with diapers soon!!!

This. I use a Hemp Babies insert in between the newborn and regular BG inserts.  Holds her 12-13 hours every time.  She doesn't drink a lot right before bed but she does always have what seems like a 3lb diaper when she wakes! :)

This was us too. We did end up using disposables (Earth's Best) a lot at night because Eli had frequent diaper rash that only cleared up with Desitin.

  • I have heard great things about the workhorse diapers from green mountain diapers and a wool cover.

  • We're up to almost age three using CDs (this kid is never going to potty train, I swear.  He has ZERO interest.).  Most nights the addition of a hemp doubler with the regular fuzzy bunz insert is plenty, and the addition of a BG newborn insert during the day works perfectly.  Owen drinks a TON of water before bed, during the night, etc., and yet we still rarely have issues.

  • A really good fitted with wool is almost always bulletproof

  • I switched to disposable overnight diapers at around 17 months. She would even explode a regular disposable! We tried a hemp doubler and the two microfiber inserts that came with the BG diapers, but it wasn't enough and I didn't want to spend the money trying anything else.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot -- before Owen got too big for them, we used DryBees and BabyBeehinds bamboo and hemp fitteds with Thirsties covers.  Those worked AWESOME.  Thirstiest diapers ever.
