VD is coming

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? How? What are your plans?

Re: VD is coming

  • We don't usually, but this year we have plans to go to lunch at the restaurant that catered our wedding.  I'm so freaking excited!

  • No.  I hate Valentine's Day.  It's contrived and stupid.  Also, I worked at restaurants through my teens and early 20s, and it was the most ridiculous day of the year to be a server.  I seriously saw proposals happen at fuckings Outback Steakhouse.  Come on.
  • This will be my first VD in a very, very, very (very, very) long time.  We're going out to dinner.  I might wear lingerie under my dress.  Or maybe nothing at all...
    This is my siggy.
  • We're going to the restaurant we went to on our wedding day, but we might save it for the weekend after, since that will be our 6 month anniversary too. Yes, we celebrate that shiit.

    Better than Arby's!!

Broc-- I LOVE that place. It was one of my favorite brunch places. Yum!!

Bowies- My vote is nothing at all. But don't say anything until you've gotten your mains. You may have to fight him to stay for dessert!

  • I opened this post thinking we would see a link to a news story about a spread of venereal disease.

We usually don't do anything for Valentine's Day. He usually works until 8.

    Oh, FFS.
  • No we dont celebrate and i hate valentines day. The only thing I do is make a heart shaped pan of brownies because i have the pan from making a heart shaped cake my niece wanted a few years ago and I dont like letting my $1 bin pan go to waste! The extent of valentines day may or may not include sex that is the extent of valentines day for us.

  • We use Valentine's Day as an excuse to go out for a fancy dinner.  This year will be more awesome because I have a gift card so we'll hardly pay any money for it.  I'm excited.

  • No idea.  I like Valentine's Day but it's not a huge deal for me.

Probably will go out to dinner with the guy I've been seeing semi-regularly.

    Look with your special eyes.
  • We're not VD people.  We might give each other a card, but it's mostly business as usual.

This is us. I will give him a card. He may or may not return the favor. Once he got me a rose on his way home from work. No biggie.

  • We like to have a movie night with candy. Then sex if we feel like it. It will be netflix & fingers crossed that I won't fall over tired for sex. :P

  • It's our wedding anniversary, so we celebrate more due to that. This year I'm not sure what we'll be doing. We'll give cards and candy to the kids because we like to. But as DS 2.0 will be on week 2 in cast #1 we probably will not go out anywhere by ourselves.
  • We don't go overboard but he did get me flowers and a card last year. We had JUST started dating so I wasn't sure if I should do something, and didn't (whoops). I think this year we're planning to just do our anniversary/VD/yay Friday night/whatever nice dinner out and call it good. If it turns out that I overpaid the government more than usual, we may go away for a night somewhere.
  • We don't do anything for VD, mostly because Feb 18th was our anniversary when we were dating.  This will make 12 years of being together...

Our plan is to make dinner at home, get each other cards and go see Star Wars 3D.

We used to do big anniversary stuff, but enh... there's been 12.  Usually we end up eating at home or somewhere we can walk to in town, and watching a movie.

  • Probably just a card exchange.

I will probably also do something corny like make a heart shaped dessert or heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream for dinner or something.  It will be for both FI and DS provided FI isn't traveling and DS doesn't have to work.  I'll probably get each of them their favorite candy, too.

Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
  • Sometimes DH cooks a fancy dinner at home.  Other years we do nothing at all for it. I do try to pay attention to when VD is though, because if it happens to fall on date night, we need to either reschedule date night, do date night at home, or make reservations! This year I'll be traveling for work, so that probably makes it a "nothing at all" year.  I'm not against VD, but our dating anniversary and DH's birthday are both in February, so we have more meaningful things to celebrate this time of year.
  • In about 21/2 weeks, there will be VD everywhere.:)

Ditto for me, except it was Red Lobster.

I am forecasting a threesome with Ben and Jerry.

these pretzels are making me thirsty.
  • We do the whole deal, roses, dinner, presents, we started when we were dating and now it's just sappy fun.
  • I also was slightly disappointed to find out this post was not about Venereal Disease. We probably won't do much. I may milk it for a trip to Waffle House, which will be a nice change from taco bell, and wendy's.
