I know there are a couple of you who live in Grimes. Would you mind sharing with me the area you live in and if there are any houses or lots for sale in your area? We are trying to decide if we are going to build or move and when.
Re: Grimes ladies
I live in Grimes!!!
We are in a new neighborhood on the very North side of town (James street straight north to the end). There are 2 lots left on our road, but a brand new developement just North of us with only 4-5 houses built so far. There is also a brand new development directly East of us...to say the least there is no shortage of lots or houses to choose from. We live on a cul-de-sac with only 24 lots so we are truly our own neighborhood, with just 22 houses built we have over 42 kids on the street. It is absolutely crazy, but totally awesome! Most of the kids are between the ages of newborn-10. We do have one family with a 15 year old girl who happens to be an awesome babysitter!
What else would you like to know? We really like Grimes. It is a fairly young town so there are lots of kids. They have a great Parks and Rec department with several activities even for the young ones. The school system is wonderful (IMO) and just the right size. We are close enough to DSM and WDM without being a hassel or much of a problem. Grimes is also in process of building a new sports complex with soccer fields, basketball and tennis courts, baseball/softball fields, etc.
I also know there are some new neighborhoods on the south side of town and just north when you first come into town (behind City Hall).
Let me know if you have other questions.
I'll add a tiny bit...we are looking to move to Grimes the end of this year. There is South Meadowlark (is that right Steph?) that has a lot of new homes that are nice, reasonably priced but also pretty cookie cutter. It's located right off 141 (west).
I love Steph's area. We are going back and forth bw buying and building. Feel free to keep us updated on your decisions and why...it helps to hear what other people think too!
My friend lives in Grimes, as does my cousin. I know my cousin LOVES living there. It's still the small town feel w/ all the aminaties being close to WDM and what not.
I'm not sure if H would moe there when we're ready to buy again. But It's on my list of places to look.
BP is correct, South Meadowlark is the development on the South side of town. I live just North of Gabus Dr, but that is a great development too! I love the area around us. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any of the developments mentioned so far
.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions. you can also message me on FB if you'd like.
No ideas, I just wanted to say good luck!
) I think it is a wonderful area.
