This is...I don't even know.
Re: This is...I don't even know.
Here is what I got:
My in-laws are willing to spend money on us, but with strings attached. I don't do that so they don't spend money on me. But DH will do anything for them so he gets a lot of stuff. My DH is still getting money from them for grades (doesn't that usually end when you graduate high school?????) DH isn't going to buy me anything for V-Day, and I need a new phone (btw, why is he spending $600 that they don't have???) so should I ask my in-laws?
Honestly, she sounds immature still. She needs a talk with her H, not her in-laws.
I'm having a hard time getting past how many people were saying getting paid for grades should stop in high school
WHO THE FOOK GOT PAID FOR GRADES?!

I knew people who got paid for grades through high school, even. I never understood it. My parents refused to pay for mine, but when DH was on the Dean's List (every semester) in college, my mom always gave him twenty dollars. This does not make sense.
Actually, H and BIL got paid for grades and I never let H live it down. He's all about having gotten himself through this life...
And then I remember that mom and dad paid for college. And then when he got tuition reimbursement from work, mom and dad let him keep that money and he bought a motorcycle with it. And mom and dad paid him to do the simple azz work that was high school.
I didn't realize that was so prevalent... and I'm kind of grossed out. You know what your payment is for doing well in school... you don't have to live in a cardboard box and eat cat food for the rest of your life. I think that's reward enough.
