How are things going for you and your H? Did you hear anything after his interview? I didn't see an update post (sorry if I'm just blind and missed it). Still sending T&Ps that everything will work out for you two!

Re: ***Sharbear722 ***

  • If she updated I missed it too. Hope you guys are managing ok Sharbear!
  • Thanks for asking ladies! H was told that the job was his, however, the company is corporate run and so this location needs corporate approval first. They are actually creating the job for H and since it wasn't an open position it's going to take a little longer. Yesterday H was told it should be a few more weeks. But we can't relax till they actually have him sign the paperwork.

In the meantime, he's supposed to be getting his severance pay as a lump sum tomorrow with his regular paycheck. He filed for unemployment benefits which will start in 2 weeks. We have to talk later about COBRA...just found out it'll cost $900 a month for us. OUCH. Not sure what we're going to do about that yet.

  • I'm so glad that they've pretty much told him the job is his! That must be relieving. And it's great that he's getting severance. Hang in there! Sometimes something bad has to happen in order to make way for something good :)

That's about how much Cobra would have been per month when I left my first teaching job.  It's highway robbery I tell ya.  After crunching the numbers and looking into alternative options in the case I'd need to see a doctor, etc?for me, it just wasn't worth the high premium.  Too bad at that time, they hadn't changed the law to where 26 year olds could be on parent insurance or I would have just done that.  Thank goodness for IA's free clinic network and PP.

Fingers crossed for Adam!  I hope that everything goes smoothly with this new job possibility!
