I have a wedding in Florida at the end of April and it's cheaper for me to fly to Cancun, St. Lucia, PR, St. Thomas, Jamaica, Aruba, Antigua...

When you find out let me know! I know gas has gone up, but not as much as the fares have increased. We were trying to play a long weekend to Vegas (from Atl) and we are looking at $500+pp no matter what dates I put in the calendar. Argh!

On January 1 CNN did a piece on what would be more expensive this year and they said airfares would see a 15% increase.

Our local paper recently published a blurb that a 4-yr study found on average for all flights that the cheapest time to purchase is 6wks before the trip.

For once, I've found the opposite with Canada. Flights are CHEAP. I'm impressed. I paid $718 for a direct flight to Paris from Toronto. That's incredible because I'm so used to seeing it in the thousands.

I know that they include taxes and fees now, but I've never had to pay ~400+ to go to Florida before!
