My first pair of the new denim brand I fell in love with has finally shredded a little bit in the inner thigh and I'm sad as I usually never bought denim this expensive (over $50, but still under $100). I think I've had them 2 years. So I was curious, those of you ladies who are normal and human, aka whose inner thighs rub together, how long do your jeans (and other pants) usually last?
Re: Thighs and denim
I will answer for my H who has this problem.
His 7 jeans last maybe 1 year, Citizens and AG's around 2 years, Diesels and Levis are still going strong after 3 years.

i don't have a TON of clothes like the ladies on here.. usually i find a few pairs at a time that i cycle through. they usually last like 5 months or more.. but remember, i wear jeans to work so they get a lot of wear. my current normal jeans look raggedy in my opinion but i won't buy new ones just yet!
Ok, so my 2 years on this pair isn't so bad...I have 3 pairs of jeans that I cycle through mostly Fri, Sat, and Sun. They just fit so damn well and I get complements on them. If I forget a belt, I don't have 3+ inches of gap above my booty! I won't feel terrible then if I have to buy a replacement pair not on sale at Nordies. FWIW, I'm talking about my Kut from the Kloth.
Karebear - where do you buy those?
For me it depends a lot on how thick the denim is. I have a pair of luckys and a pair of 7FAM that are both thinner denim. I LOVE both pairs, and had them for roughly 2 years. The luckys, I've already had to patch in the inner thighs (yep, I love them THAT much) and the 7s are just starting to fray. I'll probably patch them as well.

i'm so glad i'm not the only one with this problem.
i normally wear banana republic jeans-- they last about 1.5 years. i've patched them up before (from the inside) and recolored them, so they don't look as bad. and in that case, they'll last another 6 months or so.

Aren't they? They were the first time I had ever bought a pair of jeans over $50 but as soon as I put them on, I about died. I couldn't believe how flattering they were (and it didn't hurt that the size that fit claimed to be an 8 instead of my usual 10 or 12). I bought a second pair...and then when I decided I needed skinny jeans to wear with my riding boots, I splurged to buy them at full price.
Hmm, I think I started the problem because I usually fold my jeans twice, so that they are about square (old habits from working the Old Navy denim wall) and I had noticed it was starting to cause some permanent creasing and discoloration on the fold . I noticed the fraying start on the thigh seam on that same line (and I put fray check on it to stop the process). Last week they finally split a little. I don't know how to comfortably patch it so that it also looks decent but now would be the time since it's only about an inch long. Suggestions?
I get them at the Buckle. What your are describing is the same issue I have with most jeans. I like the Buckle too because they are XX Long inseams for tall girls. Thier sales people for the most part are really good and will help you try on 30 plus pairs of jeans just to find the right ones (I've had some iffy experiences around the holidays). Big Stars are usually between 80 and 130 dollars, but to me it is worth it. I buy maybe two new pairs every two plus years.

lol. jeans don't last for me! i'm the only one.. lol. if i had more pairs.. or could find more pairs that i like, i imagine they'd last a long time.. plus, i'm the type to not buy something new until the other one is DEAD.. like i can't even wear it to the store to get a new pair. i hate spending money on clothes!
