An amusing little story

The other day, my yoga instructor said she was picking up her son from pre-school. As they were leaving, he waved to the teacher and said, "Bye-bye, Miss Smith. Have a good day! Do you have a vagina?"

Without even flinching, the teacher said, "Yes, I do. You have a good day too, Michael."

Kids are funny sometimes.

  • Haha!

For a while around age 3, my sister would greet everyone with, "Wanna beer?" because that's the first thing my mom would say to guests at our house. That went over really well with my conservative grandma, I can tell you.

There's a woman in my ceramics class whose kids (3 and 5) call any carbonated drink beer. They so seldom have soda, so the only fizzy drinks in the house usually are beer. She said it's been a bit awkward when they've been at a party where there is soda and her kids ask her if they can have a beer.

  • Good on the teacher... I would feel very awkward.

  • I hope I am that quick-witted should I ever have an interaction with a kid. I can imagine at this point I'd be stuttering trying to find the right answer.

  • LOL

That teacher did a good job of answering on the spot without making it a big deal.  I'm terrible at things like this because I can't contain my laughter.
