We discovered a couple of weeks ago that the company that sold us the furniture is a front for the Russian mob and the CEO is under indictment for fraud, money laundering, and racketeering. We also found another review online from a customer who asked for a refund and received a check, only to have it bounce.
We requested a refund shortly after Christmas and got an e-mail back basically saying that they refused to refund our money but they were working with their supplier to fulfill the order.
I gave them a week (ending last Friday) to refund us our money before I took legal action against them. When Friday passed and I didn't hear from them I started looking into the actual logistics of suing them for the money and FIL asked his lawyer if she'd be willing to draw up the papers.
Today, I got another e-mail from the company. Apparently our order is ready to ship. Well, well, well....
Re: The (Hopefully) Final Chapter About Our Dining Room
That's hysterical!
I'm trying to find the article DH found about the CEO. It's really interesting - I wish I had bookmarked it.
I wonder if they're in with the mob who owns the "banquet hall" down the road from our place in Chicago.
