Under contract, but not overjoyed?
Everyone else seems ecstatic once they're counting down to closing but I'm still on the fence. I love the house we chose, it's $60K less than we planned to spend so the mortgage is going to be easier than expected, and it doesn't need much work aside from painting and the usual stuff. It's in the best school district in the county and the taxes are low compared to the surrounding areas. I don't think I've made a terrible choice, but the thought of all this responsibility is weighing on me.
Anyone else feel like this or am I a complete alien?
Re: Under contract, but not overjoyed?
I think feeling overwhelmed is completely normal.
Sitting down with a complete budget for review on paper makes me feel a little bit better about knowing what we are facing. But until you move in and start real life there, paying the actual bills, it still makes me uncomfortable. It does pass. BTW, this is my third house purchase
That's totally normal. I was sooo stressed out for a few weeks after we went under contract. It's a huge responsibility and major life change, especially if it's your first house.
It will be ok.
