YES....my thoughts exactly...something doesn't seem right about this whole senario. I think this biatch is lying.
My jaw dropped when I saw this story reported this morning on GDNY. I LOVE me some Greg Kelly.
This is horrible no matter what happened- either a woman was raped or a man's reputation is tarnished and he is in fear for his liberty. Whoever is the victim is probably going through the worst point in his/her life. No matter what side the truth is on, this case will be exploited and politicized. We are not privy to all of the facts and probably never will be.
Rape is still rape even if you had drinks, had relations before, are married to the person, wore or behaved provocatively, went somewhere willingly and communicated with the assailant afterwards. Rape cases are rarely neat, never comfortable, and victims are not always likeable. Having said that, I do believe she should be charged and prosecuted if she is lying. It is a possiblility. When someone makes a false accusation, s/he jams up all victims and perpetuates rape myths that make it so hard for people to come forward and get help.
Forgive the rant. I?ve seen too many people not see justice because they knew their stories would not be believed. Usually this happens to the most marginalized people in our society. So sad.

Agree and totally get the delay in reporting by most victims. I guess what I don't get is why, if she just met him that day and he raped her, she kept in touch with him by phone and text afterwards? That's the part that sounds really odd to me -- if it had been an acquaintance or relationship situation in which a rape occurred, I guess I can see the on-going communication. But with someone who, until that day was a complete stranger to you? That's the part that just seems to bizarre (well, in addition to why she decided to take him to see her office after having drinks?).
Hopefully the DA's office will do a better job handling this than they did with the DSK fiasco (and in that case, I DO completely think she was the victim and was denied justice because of her situation compared to his wealth and fame). Like I said, I'm just interested to see how this plays out when more of the facts come out.

Elf, ITA it is very off-sounding. I think some facts are missing- such a loaded case, not only is he a voice in the media, but his dad is top banana in the NYPD- what information can we trust? (both sides of the coin, who's protecting or gunning for someone). Also, there is a big difference b/w being investigated and charged. Most people accused of rape are not noted in the media until charges are filed.
In this case, reading the 3 or 4 "facts" disseminated, I agree it sounds fugazy, but what if she is a little off (edp?) what if he was blackmailing her (taped her?) There really are a few possibilities, though I understand they are not probable. Then again, there are plenty of cases filled with improbabilities that are chock full of merit.
Speaking to why you would communicate after the fact with your rapist, it happens plenty of times- abusive relationships (how many times does it take for an abused person to have the courage/means to walk away before s/he is successful?), unequal power structures (prisoners/guards, those abused in mental health facilities, either by other patients or those who are supposed to be there to help). What about young people who have no idea what a functional relationship looks like or are feeling peer pressured? Johnny raped Janey after the football game. She hates him, but with the social hierarchy in high school she may choose to keep quiet and ignore what happened. Maybe she has severe PTSD or is dissociating
These cases kill me. I get that the scenarios I mentioned aren't applicable here, and she could be doing something so disgusting by bringing false accusations. Even though as the facts sound now, and it may be read as a deep pocket case, it's the past victims and future victims who are hearing the comments about this case. It creates a culture of silence. It breaks my heart that someone would get the message that it's not safe to come fwd unless you have an iron clad case.
